GOVERNOR'S PROJECT

ERIKA'S LIGHTHOUSE

Each term, the Governor chooses a project for the district to focus on. This year, we are proud to announce that Governor Carter Lew has chosen Erika's Lighthouse for the 2026-2027 term.

What is Erika's Lighthouse?

Erika's Lighthouse is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and raising awareness about adolescent depression, encouraging good mental health, and breaking down stigma surrounding mental illness.

EDUCATION: Erika's Lighthouse provides free, evidence-informed mental health education programs and resources that empower schools, students, families, and communities to recognize the signs of depression, and promote emotional well-being.

AWARENESS: Every youth deserves to feel supported, understood, and empowered to prioritize their mental health. Erika's Lighthouse works to normalize conversations about mental health, and eliminate the stigma surrounding adolescent depression.

COMMUNITY: Through school programs, student-led clubs, educational resources, and community partnerships, Erika's Lighthouse fosters supportive environments where individuals can connect, advocate, and look out for another.

COMMITMENT: Mental health challenges can often feel isolating, but no one should have to face them alone. Erika's Lighthouse is committed to providing free and accessible resources that inspire hope, encourage help-seeking, and ensure every young person has the support they need to thrive.
