What is the Governor's Project?
What is Project Participate?
Project Participate will raise money, which will allow challenged athletes to participate in various athletics events such as triathlons and relays. The money raised through special events and projects will go straight to the Challenged Athletes Foundation which will provide equipment including wheelchairs, prosthetics, special training, and coaching to athletes who suffer from physical disabilities.

Where will the money raised through Project Participate be sent?
All funds will be donated to the Challenged Athletes Foundation, which has established numerous projects that benefit handicapped athletes. The money will be used specifically for disabled child athletes, which will provide the means necessary for those children to participate in sports that they may not otherwise be able to get involved in.

This project will allow physically disabled children the ability to participate in sports and athletic competitions through grants, special funding, the supply of much needed equipment and support from trainers. Project participate will focus on children who face challenges performing everyday activities which come easily for most people. This project will help challenged athletes in their pursuit to do things the typical children do everyday.

What is our District goal for Project Participate?
By the end of the 2006-2007 service year, we should anticipate a total of $5,000 to be raised for Project Participate through service events and fundraisers throughout the District during the new service year.
