Wow! With a successful District Convention over and the coming of summer, it's surreal that the start of another service year is already in progress! I cannot wait to work with all you members and the District Board to create one amazing year of service and spirit!
I would like to encourage everyone to try out for the APPOINTED BOARD positions. Appointed board is a great opportunity to get more involved in KIWIN'S and you will be serving directly with the District Board, participating in critical district-wide decisions, and have serious responsibilities that will shape our 2008-2009 KIWIN'S year. It will be a lot of fun and work, but an amazing opportunity that I, and I'm sure other appointed board members can tell you, do not regret becoming a part of. The deadline has been extended so check the Elections 2008-Resources soon for the updated application. Please apply regardless of your age. After all, I joined Appointed Board my freshman year after district convention.
On that note, I hope to see many of you at your division banquets and that you all enjoy the remainder of the school year. Remember that our service doesn't stop with the end of school, summer is the best time to bond with friends, get a tan, etc. and all while serving your community. Whether you're doing beach cleanups, car-washes, helping summer fairs, or your various other service projects, I hope that you all enjoy your summer and make plans for a fantastic 2008-2009 year!
